Its description: "The coat of arms of the oblast is based on the historical coat of arms of the Nizhny Novgorod Province. The coat of arms of the oblast is an image of a red deer walking on a silver field with six-pointed antlers and black hooves, placed on a heraldic shield; the heraldic shield is crowned with a historical Russian crown and framed with golden oak leaves connected by a historical St. Andrew's ribbon in accordance with the attached original." |
