Description: "The coat of arms of Sakhalin Oblast depicts a silver shield with a blue column bearing a golden 17th-century Russian Cossack ship facing left, sailing on silver waves and accompanied on each side by a black hill – a volcano with a single red tongue of flame emerging from its crater."
