Blazons of Chechnya Republic Towns


Coat of arms of Chechnya Republic was adopted on June 22, 2004. Along the border of the COA a national ornamental pattern is placed. A medieval Chechen tower on the left and an oil derrick on the right are the symbols of historical continuity.

Chechnya Republic (1991)In 1991 the president Dzhokhar Dudaev signed the decree about the creation of symbols of independent Ichkeria. The main Chechen emblem was a wolf. In 1995 the national symbols were changed: an oil derrick and a gear wheel were placed on the new COA. In August, 1996 the separatists restored Dudaev's symbols.


Grozny Grozny. Adopted on August 20, 1969.
