Blazons of Kurgan Oblast Towns

Coat of arms of Kurgan Oblast was adopted on December 1, 1997. The description of the coat of arms: "The Coat of Arms of Kurgan Oblast represents a green heraldic shield, in which field two silver barrows, from which left - less and arise from behind the right; in silver wall-like extremity with five merlons and four embrasures - running azure marten with gold muzzle and breast. External ornaments of the arms of Kurgan Oblast are:
- Gold wreath with two oak branches. A wreath is interweaved with azure Andrey band.
The arms of Kurgan area can be reproduced in two variants:
- As the large coat of arms (with external ornaments);
- As the small coat of arms (without external ornaments)". (Law "About the coat of arms and flag of Kurgan Oblast", article 2)

The author of arms and flag of Kurgan Oblast is Dmitry Ivanov. He told me, that with the light touch of Oblast Duma deputy Viktor Tataurov, these coat of arms and flag received the unofficial nickname: "Woman swimming on her back".
