The description of the coat of arms: "The Coat of Arms of Kurgan Oblast represents a green heraldic shield,
in which field two silver barrows, from which left - less and arise from behind the right;
in silver wall-like extremity with five merlons and four embrasures - running azure marten
with gold muzzle and breast. External ornaments of the arms of Kurgan Oblast are: * * * The author of arms and flag of Kurgan Oblast is Dmitry Ivanov. He told me, that with the light touch of Oblast Duma deputy Viktor Tataurov, these coat of arms and flag received the unofficial nickname: "Woman swimming on her back". |

For a long time St. Archangel Michael was respected as a heavenly protector of Shadrinsk. That is why the city coat of arms includes gold (yellow) and silver (white) - heraldic colours of St. Archangel Michael. |
