Coat of arms of Ryazan Oblast was adopted on August 6, 1997 (on June 24, 1998, the arms description was extended). Description: "In a gold field a prince in green, decorated by gold fur-cap and in a green attire, with throwed upon shoulders red mantle and in red boots, holds in the right hand a silver sword, in left - black, decorated by gold sheath. Caftan and mantle have black sable borders and gold claspes. Shield-holders - silver horses, walking out of a shield, with gold manes, black hoofs and red tongues, on gold bottom of the declined gold grain ears. The shield is surrounded by red, having thin - usual and internal - gold borders, order tape, and also is covered by red, fured by ermine, cloak with gold fringe, cords and tassels. The coat of arms is crowned with a Grand Duchy cap (crown) of the special kind". The author of the coat of arms is Mikhail Shelkovenko. |
